Larch & Rowan - The Living Rainforest
8th October 2009

Larch and Rowan had an amazing trip to the Living Rainforest in Newbury. They had the opportunity to experience the climate, surroundings and some of the plants and animals from the rainforest. The children loved walking around and spotting  the plants and flowers they had been learning about, I was really impressed with how many they found and remembered!  It was lovely to see the shock on their faces at the size of some of the leaves, and to see the excitement when birds were walking around beside them on the floor and flying above their heads. The children saw monkeys, ducks, a range of birds, fish, tortoises, butterflies, snakes, spiders, bugs and much more. They even spotted a water dragon camouflaged between some plants! As the rainforest was so
hot we gave the children small breaks where they got to have a snack, water and a little play on the outside play area which they also really enjoyed. From start to finish the children loved this trip and it has really helped them grasp a better understanding
of rainforest and it’s features. Miss Parisi
