On Friday the 15th May Beech and Holly went to Woodside Animal Farm. We had a fantastic time looking at a variety of animals. When we arrived we had a hands on activity where the children could actually touch some of the animals. Our helpers Rob and Chris introduced us to a two day old chick which was very cute and also a week old baby duck, which the children had the experience to touch.

We were amazed by the large Owl who was able to wave goodbye to us, unfortunately we were not able to touch this as Chris said it would lose the natural oils from it’s feathers. We saw some chinchillas and learnt about what their habitat was like.

There was a wide variety of farm animals from llamas to pigs and some fabulous exotic birds. The children had a trip around the farm on a trailer tractor ride that they loved! It was a great trip, the children were enthusiastic and interested, and were certainly ready for their tea when we returned! Mrs Greene
