The Trip to the National History Museum commenced with a visit to the Creepy Crawley gallery – ‘aaaaaaaaaaahhh’ you may think – but not Year 4 – ‘fantastic’, ‘awesome’ and ‘wicked’ were comments from these junior scientists! They just couldn’t get enough of them.
When the hands on display appeared, I could see our children crowded round in total fascination. I was impressed by the knowledge of certain individuals – especially Harry Tiller, an avid nature programme viewer so it would appear. If you ever come across a couple of scorpions and need to know which one to trust, Harry is your man!
We moved on to the Science Museum and entered the world of ‘Wallace and Gromit’s Cracking Inventions Show and Exhibition’. The children participated in the show and learnt about:
Patent,
Design,
Trademark &
Copyright.
All useful concepts for our inventors and scientists of the future – they were surprised that you could own an idea – the way you own a car.
And of course, no trip would be complete without ‘ye old gift shop’ – so off we trooped to gather our presents and were presented with an array of possibilities. Happy with their purchases, it was back to Milton Keynes and a well deserved rest after a fun filled day!
